Dobet Gnahoré

The African superstar and GRAMMY winner Dobet Gnahoré has released a new album titled "Zouzou," a tribute to the children of the Ivory Coast. She is ready to rock the stage at Cosmopolite!

"The Grammy-winning artist's beautiful and striking voice cuts through to create a magical effect" - BBC

The album "Zouzou" is a celebration of the rhythms and culture of the Ivory Coast, presented in a modern soundscape. Resilience, togetherness, and the power of the female community are some of the themes.

Gnahoré hails from Abidjan in Ivory Coast and grew up in a family of musicians. Her father, Boni Gnahoré, is a percussionist and the founder of a cultural organization. Dobet received her musical education at her father's dance and theater school, where she learned African music, dance, and percussion.

"A stylist who always finds a way to inhabit the entire material, as a great vocalist always does, in addition to embodying the roles of songwriter, percussionist, and dancer" - BBC

"The Queen of Afropop" won a GRAMMY Award in the category Best Urban/Alternative Performance for the song "Pearls," which was a collaboration with American singer India Arie.

"Powerful vocals" (...) "A palpable depth sharpness" - Rhythm Passport

"Zouzou" means angel in French and features more electronic production than the previous five studio albums Gnahoré has released. Momo Wang is one of Abidjan's leading producers and has given the album a modern "edge," providing the pop side of the work with a more solid footing alongside the Afro vibe.

"The synth-based coloration is a success in meeting Gnahoré's acoustic universe" - Panm360
