Kinga Głyk

Glyk is one of Polands greatest bassists and has performed in Norway at Maijazz and received great reviews. She has already had the opportunity to share the stage with the esteemed bassist Marcus Miller as a guest at one of his concerts.

On International Women's Day, March 8th, the up-and-coming Polish bassist will come to Cosmopolite to celebrate women in music!

"Kinga's musical abilities have made her a part of Polish jazz history" - Adam Makowicz

The 23-year-old bassist, Kinga Glyk, is considered the best Polish bass musician of her generation and is a rising star on the jazz and blues scene. She began her music career at the age of 12 in the family band Glyk P.I.K. TRIO.

"One of the most interesting bassists of the young generation" - Jazz Forum

Her releases have come one after the other, from her debut album "Rejestracja" in 2015, to "Happy Birthday" in 2016, and "Dream" in 2015 - recorded on Warner Music. The albums feature some of the world's most famous musicians: Greg Hutchinson (drums), Tim Garland (saxophone), and Nitai Hershkovits (piano). Glyk's latest album, "Feelings," was released in 2019, also on Warner Music.

"Kinga is incredibly talented, musically, and has fantastic energy!" - Grzegorz Kapolka

Jazz in Norway wrote about Glyk during her concert at Maijazz in 2018: "Now Kinga Glyk emerges as a young, highly talented musician who has accumulated an unusually high number of views on social media – one of the great sensations in social media for jazz in Europe. In fact, on par with pop and mainstream music."

The magazine further states: "For Kinga Glyk, the most important thing is the groove and having fun on stage, but also to communicate well with the audience."

We look forward to celebrating Women's Day with an outstanding bassist!
