CosmopoLITEN: Klangbein

Klangbein is a playful, warm and humorous concert performance about two close friends – and what happens when they suddenly stop understanding each other.

Through trumpet, clarinet and expressive physical storytelling, Ole Jørn Myklebust and Morten Barrikmo invite the children into familiar everyday situations and changing emotions. When communication breaks down, misunderstandings and conflicts arise. But is their friendship strong enough to bring them back together?

Since its premiere in 2005, Klangbein has been performed more than 2,200 times across six countries. Through music, movement and humour, the performance engages young audiences while opening up conversations about friendship, empathy and finding ways to express their feelings – through both words and music.

Myklebust and Barrikmo are two versatile and experienced musicians with backgrounds spanning numerous Norwegian artists, ensembles and theatre productions. Together, they create an intimate and lively performance in which the music speaks just as clearly as the words.

The performance is produced by Torstein Ellingsen/Rikskonsertene and Klangbein.
