Santrofi – ‘Making Moves’

The golden energy of Ghana’s musical heritage meets the funk and afrobeat of the future when Santrofi takes the stage at Cosmopolite! This eight-piece powerhouse from Accra, led by the charismatic producer and bassist Emmanuel Kwadwo Ofori, has taken the world by storm – and now it’s Oslo’s turn.

Santrofi broke through internationally with their debut album Alewa and are now back with their new album Making Moves, produced by four-time Grammy winner Jerry Boys (Buena Vista Social Club, Ali Farka Touré, and more). Here, raw Highlife grooves meet danceable funk bangers, soulful lyrics, and a modern, urban sound.

Known for unforgettable live performances, the band has rocked stages at WOMAD (UK), Roskilde (DK), and FMM Sines (PT), and recently sold out 13 shows in Japan. Now they’re bringing their explosive energy and passion for Highlife to Norway!

Santrofi is more than a band – they are a movement, carrying a whole musical tradition into a new era. With tracks like “Amina,” “Gyae Me How,” and the streetwise title track Making Moves, they collaborate with stars of Ghana’s new music scene such as Arathejay and Kofi Jamar, proving that Highlife still beats with the pulse of today.

Expect an evening full of rhythms that move your body, horn sections that speak directly to the soul, and grooves that get the whole room dancing.

March 13 at Cosmopolite!
