The internationally acclaimed bassist Chris Minh Doky returns to Oslo for a concert at Cosmopolite on October 22, joined by a stellar group of musicians.

Chris Minh Doky has established himself as one of the leading upright bassists of his generation, known for a distinctive style that combines technical precision, melodic strength, and rhythmic depth. Born in Denmark and musically shaped in New York, he has developed a sound that blends Nordic expression with American groove.

He has collaborated with a wide range of renowned artists, including Michael Brecker, Mike Stern, Bill Evans, David Sanborn, and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Alongside this, he has built a strong solo career with projects like The Nomads and New Nordic Jazz, as well as commissioned works for film, ballet, and orchestra.

For this Oslo concert, he brings with him an extraordinary lineup:

Till Brönner (trumpet) – Germany’s most well-known jazz musician, recognized for his distinctive tone and a career spanning both jazz and popular music.

Keith Carlock (drums) – One of the world’s most sought-after drummers, known for his work with Sting, Steely Dan, and John Mayer.

George Whitty (keyboard) – Award-winning musician and producer, known for collaborations with the Brecker Brothers, Herbie Hancock, and Carlos Santana.
