The Switch and Friends present: Christmas at Torshov

The Switch’s beloved Christmas concert returns to Torshov for the third time, as the band and some of their dearest friends take the stage at Cosmopolite on December 17!

This year marks the 15th edition of the pop-rock band’s grand pre-holiday concert night. Expect Christmas music of every kind — from hymns and evergreens to The Julekalender, medleys, and original Christmas songs written by the band themselves.

The Switch serve up a full plate of Christmas cheer: seven kinds of homemade cookies, surprise visits from red-clad figures, amateur theatrics, singalongs, and plenty of festive spirit. Every year brings something new, but the band always stays true to their traditions — The Switch embrace every kind of Christmas, from the kitschy to the sublime!

In 2023, the Christmas concert was performed at Cosmopolite for the very first time — and it was love at first jingle lick. It’s no coincidence, either: the band has strong ties to Torshov. Lyricist and cake baker Peter Vollset hails from the neighborhood and works as a bartender at Bar Albatross. The band’s second album, B for the Beast (2015), even features an ox on the cover — also no coincidence.
