Scott Henderson returns to Cosmopolite with a new album "Karneval" set to be released in February 2024.
The harmonies are more complex, but the blues is still there. The songs have a lot of rock in them, especially in the solos!
Henderson himself says about the album: "The concept of the solos on this album is to try to reach places I've never been before. There is even a whole song with just a solo guitar, something I've never done before."
Joining him on the album are bassist Romain Labaye and percussionist Archibald Ligonniere, the same musicians who were part of the album "People Mover."
Jazz Time Magazine recently named Henderson the best guitarist and best electric/jazz-rock/contemporary artist. The trio will perform material from the latest album, previous albums, as well as recent blues releases.
Henderson is known for bringing passion to his live performances and with his versatility in modern guitar playing, he takes the audience from jazz to blues, exploring the power of both genres. Few guitarists can do what Henderson does, taking us from the intensity we know from Jimi Hendrix to Herbie Hancock's famous harmonic heights!
