"We have all played together in various projects over the years, and we are very excited to finally share the stage as a group and create music together. We have talked about this combination of musicians for years, and it's finally happening!"
"Fantastic!" – London Jazz News
The group will perform music inspired by the members' backgrounds—genres like soul, funk, neo-jazz, and pop! This concert breaks all genre-conventions!
"A stylistic diversity... Evans' high-energy playing is ever-present... He seems to always live in the moment, capable of spitting out endless ideas at a blistering pace." – All About Jazz
Bill Evans is a world-class saxophonist who made his debut in 1980 with Miles Davis at the age of 21. Over the years, Evans has released numerous albums and collaborated with artists like Herbie Hancock and Mick Jagger. He has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards, including for his 2005 album Soulgrass. Evans explains that Miles Davis was a crucial inspiration for the album's production: "Miles always encouraged me to write and play what inspires me. I've held onto his advice from the very beginning, despite the challenges it might bring. Miles gave me the confidence to trust myself as a player and composer."
On several occasions, Evans has graced Cosmopolite alongside ensembles led by guitarist Mike Stern. Now, the phenomenal saxophonist is bringing his own band!
