The Tomasz Stanko Quartet in its current line-up debuted on the global jazz scene in 2002 with their Soul of things album (ECM). The release was promoted with a number of concert tours in Europe and the USA and Canada, has been widely acclaimed by critics and paved the Quartet`s way to the best jazz venues worldwide. The critics have found Tomasz Stako and his young colleagues as one of the most exciting jazz acts, which was reflected by awarding Tomasz Stako with the European Jazz Prize as the Jazz Artist of the Year 2002.
